Glosso is a language learning app that blocks Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube and other social networks until you complete your daily vocabulary session. Unlike Duolingo, Glosso is built around the iOS Screen Time API: your social apps stay locked until you've earned them. It's a Duolingo alternative for people who actually want their screen time to translate into real progress.
Which languages can I learn with Glosso?
Glosso currently supports nine languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese and Korean. Each language uses a Spaced Repetition System (SRS) so you memorize vocabulary long-term instead of just recognizing it once.
Does Glosso really block Instagram, TikTok and other social media?
Yes. Glosso uses Apple's official Screen Time and Family Controls APIs to block the social media apps you select. There is no workaround inside the app: if you haven't completed your daily learning session, your chosen apps stay locked. Once you finish your vocabulary session, access is unlocked for the rest of the day.
How much time per day do I need to spend on Glosso?

Which devices does Glosso work on?
Glosso is available on iPhone and iPad running a recent version of iOS. An Android version is not currently available because Glosso depends on Apple's Screen Time API for the blocking feature.
